Thanks so much Barbara, ;)
Her Father was born in Rufford.
That's ironed out a family rumour. My grandparents always said she was a cousin of Stanley Baldwin the Prime Minister, lol, so many family myths have been blown apart since I started looking them up.
Dare I ask if you have them in 1861, just to see if she had anymore siblings.

Thanks again Barbara, you are a star

IGI has the marriage:

James BALDWIN to Hannah SPENCER
8 Jun 1829      Ormskirk, Lancashire, England

So it looks as if Thomas Spencer on 1841 census may be her father or grandfather?

;D Oh, Barbara, What can I say !!!!
From the info you have given me I've found the marriages of Margaret's siblings , traced them on 1881 census and got back another 2 generations on igi  ;)
You really do deserve lots of gold stars

                          thankyou soooo very much

You're welcome!   :)

The Lancsbmd site is very good, if you need certificates (after 1837) you can download forms and order from there.
If you've got so far back you will need to check those IGI entries against the original parish registers though, as they are transcripts and there could be mistakes.  Also, have you tried freereg, free parish register site?

Would you like help with any other census?

Barbara  :)

Hi Barbara, I found loads of info and bmd records on' Lancashire online parish clark project' more than was on igi, it even gave their occupations on some.
There are still 3 of Margarets' siblings that I cannot find marriages for, or on 1881 census.
They are Robert Baldwin,Thomas Baldwin and Elizabeth.
I came across a possible death for Robert in ' Lancashire bmd 'in 1857. ref LAT/4/15

If you could possibly help me find them, I would be excstatic.

 Thanks again

Hi Insom,

I have a Thomas BALDWIN, farmer in Lathom in my background. He was married to Grace MARTLAND (Apr 23 1815). They lived on Moss Lane. Their daughter, Catherine married Peter FORSHAW). In 1841 a Robert BALDWIN lived next door. He might have been a brother. I don't have much on this family yet but it seems to me that all the Baldwins of Lathom in 1841 were related in some way. They lived very close to each other.

I have Thomas dying Aug. 1847, buried in Rufford Aug 28, 1847. Grace died in Sep of 1851.

I would love to know if we are connected.

Hassen
