Hi Everyone,
I was hoping some kind person could help me by doing a look up for me.
In the last couple of days I have been told by a relative that my grandfather came from Tipperary, considering all the family thought he orginated from Middlesex it has come as a bit of a shock.
My grandfather was the black sheep of his family because he was very much a rogue when he was younger.
I have looked at the link that takes you to the pilot site so you can look for family and had a hit with my grandfathers name and year of birth although not the correct month, but my grandfather could have possibly changed the month of his birth to hide how much of a rogue he was.
The information I have found is John Rawley birth Jul- Sep 1915 Cashel Registration District (Tipperary, Ireland) but it doesnt give his mothers name and I wondered if someone could possibley find out for me. I have been told that my grandfathers mothers name was Florence Rawley and would like to know if this name is on record at the Cashel Registration District as John Rawleys mother.
Regards

First of all, month of birth is not given in the civil indexes- the date listed is the quarter the event was registered. You don't mention the date of birth that you do have for your grandfather but his birth might not have been registered for a few weeks (if the entry you found is correct).
The mother's name is not listed in the index but will be on the actual birth certificate which you can order.

aghadowey,
Thank you for the information you have provided it is appreciated.
As to my grandfathers date of birth well that is now proving to be quite hard. As I said we always assumed that he had been born in Middlesex in 1915, until a few days ago when a relative said he was actually born in Tipperary in 1915 and only went to Middlesex in the 1930's with his mother.
I have spoken to both people who I thought might have my grandfathers birth certificate and neither of them have, as far as they are aware my grandfather lost it years ago.
This all adds to was he born in Middlesex or was he born in Tipperary, I guess I will just have to order the birth certificate to find out if it is the correct John Rawley.

Hi NettieS
The John Rawley born in Cashel in 1915 was born to Bridget Rawley, no father recorded.
this might explain why the history is fuzzy.
hope this help.
