I came across this info on A2A
R B Edmundson and son
Running a stained glass works
New Wakefield Street
Manchester
The info pertains to Jan-August 1884 but I know he was in the business at least in 1861 and 1872
I think this is my ancestor, his name could be Ralph Bolton or Robert Bolton Edmundson(a family tradition) his family came from Northumberland originally but settled in Warrington and StHelens. There are two possibilities for birth year 1808 (father)and 1838(his son)
Im trying to find R B in Manchester along with his family, can anyone help please?
He made stained glass windows for Manchester Cathedral, Princes Road Synagogue Liverpool and Ludlow Parish church,Shropshire.
Thanks Gill

Neil,
Im not sure
I think he actually constructed some completely and fitted others that were already made up, some of the stuff Ive found seems to suggest it was his work, but paid for by others, for example at Princes road it says,
Stained glass with abstract pattern by R.B Edmundson,Ludlow parish church says signed by Edmundson (or could it be designed) and one of the Manchester ones says given by a citizen once a corrister,it is by R B Edmundson and son.
If its the right person his family have history with Pilkingtons of St Helens one a designer another set up and ran a staining room and others where managers.

It is Bristol St on the 1861 census, looks clearer on the previous page.
I forgot the census reference, it is RG9/ 2899 / 66, page 32.
Bristol St has gone now, it was in the Moss Lane area. New Wakefield St is still there, by Oxford Rd Station. Look it up on google maps, it is on Street View (a very Victorian looking brick wall - real brick, not the genealogy type of brick wall ;D)
