Is anyone researching the Brooks surname from around the Kent/Sussex border area from around the late 1800's to the 1930's,

Hi!
I have the name BROOKS in my tree. This family came from the Ticehurst area of East Sussex. Would this be of interest?

Suzi,
I am looking for the family of a George Brook(s) who was born in Sussex about 1848, married a Ruth Wood the later a Judith Annie Blanch before finally settling in the Cranbrook area of Kent. I believe thet George fathered around a dozen children with both wives, any help you can give would be much appriciated,
Regards

Well, I don't think I have a link with your family.
I have found George in the 1851 census and in the 1861 and 1871. By 1881 he is married to Ruth who I believe died in 1893 aged 39. I have found his marriage to Judith Annie Blanche in 1889 (still in Sussex). After this there seems to be a complete 'nothing' despite having tried variations of the surname and I guess this is where you have come unstuck too!
I'm assuming you've got the 1851-1881 info, but if not let me know. Unfortunately, I can't help further.
