Title: Coles in Derbyshire
Post by: lesleyp on Sunday 20 February 05 14:56 GMT (UK)
I should like to trace descendants of my grandfather's elder brother, Everard Barlow, who was apparently an engine driver in Derby during WWI & so exempt from service.  My grandfather, Oswald, was injured on the Somme & the youngest brother, Howard, died at Ypres aged 21.  I know that Everard married Beatrice Cooper in 1919 in Notts & had 3 daughters, Hilda, Audrey & Christine.  Audrey married ERNEST COLES in 1946.  This is all I know.

Thank you - very kind, but I knew this already.  I am stuck with Walter's ancestors, the furthest back I've found being born c1784, so I was hoping that tracing descendants of my grandfather Oswald's brother Everard may help, though probably not.  Still, you never know.  I've found 4 2nd cousins in the past year via various routes!  Best wishes.

Is anyone still interested in Everard Barlow the train driver from Derby? I am his grandson.
