i am looking for a marriage record for john patterson born circa 1784 possibly in belford, as indicated on 1851 census. marriage would have been likely 1806-1809. his wife's name was christian or christianne and she appears to have been born circa 1787 in carham. they had children baptized in lowick that we have been able to find, alice in 1812 and william in 1809. any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hello Weehaggis
I can't see them in Carham in the time period you've given. Belford might come under Bamburgh, it doesn't appear to have it's own entry.... the records you need are on the IGI, they have a section now for the original Parish Records but you have to look through them all. Carham is listed, Belford isn't, but Genuki seems to suggest that it may be part of Bamburgh.
Here's the link for the PR's on line: Parish Records (http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#r=1;p=allCollections) Under Europe pick the last one in the list for United Kingdom, which id the Bishop's Transcripts.

i can't believe how helpful everyone is. i have a question regarding these transcripts. i noticed there is nothing for eglingham. i found two baptisms of interest to me on ancestry.co.uk listed in eglingham. do you have any idea where i could access those parish records? i went to england last fall and visited the archives in berwick but i don't know when i will have the opportunity to return to the area.
