Title: Photographers in Dublin
Post by: maintrain on Thursday 16 April 09 23:45 BST (UK)
Hi   Does anybody have any information on a photographer of the name of C. Mooney with studios at 29 Clonmore Rd and Ballybough Rd in Dublin.  I have some family photos taken by him and knowing when they were in business would help date them.

I suspect the photos were taken in the 1920's or 1930's but the clothes look older

Have tried looking  in Dublin directories but no success so far.

Thanks

Hello & welcome to Rootschat.I would suggest putting up your photos & ask for them to be dated. There are those on here who can date them for you.
Put each picture on a seperate thread, this way more people will see them.If you have problems there's a tutorial at the top of the page.Just shout if you need help.

Hi Maintrain,

you can search by address on the 1911 census of Dublin here

What a clever idea!  There is a Christopher Mooney at that Clonmore Road address in 1911.  He is a Litho. printer and living with his brother Laurence who is a bookbinder.  I'll leave it up to maintrain to post the photo if he wants, but I had thought it was quite a bit older than that so hadn't thought to try the 1911 for information on this query.

Would a Litho. printer be likely to be a photographer too?
