Hello
I am trying to trace details of my grandfather, Peter Maxwell Chetwynd-Palmer born 1919 in Bhowali, UP, India. His father was Francis Edward.
I think he was in the military but none of the family can really remember him.
Any help or guidance would be really appreciated.
Many thanks
Lyndsey

- also you can find here the information on his recommendation for a Military Cross, which should hopefully give some details.

Hi Jorose,
many thanks for this info - will certainly keep me going for a while!
I did locate the national archives Military Cross award after I posted here but certainly the gazette will be very useful.
Many thanks once again
Lyndsey

Hi Jorose,
A HUGE thank you for your info - I have now found loads of family to trace. I was just talking to myself (as you do!) wondering where the family were and there they popped up on the shipping lists!
