On the 1841 census John TRODD is living in Weston, St Mary Extra, aged 76 and not born in Hampshire.
HO107 piece 402 folio 11/29 page 7
He married his wife, Martha, on 4th March 1794 at St Mary, Southampton. Their first children were born in Itchen Ferry Village which was a small fishing community just east of Southampton.
I haven't been able to find a baptism for John around 1765 in any transcription for Hampshire so I believe he wasn't born in Hampshire, although TROD(D) is a local name. Nor have I been able to find anything on the IGI.
If he was a mariner or fisherman, when he was younger, he could have originated from anywhere along the coast. ???
I'm really stuck! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you mean apart from these
John Trodd C 17th April 1763 Alverstoke Hampshire
Father Thomas Trodd Mother Elizabeth
John Trod C 23rd January 1763 Bishops Waltham Hampshire
Father John Trod Mother Ann
John Trodd C 29th May 1763 Hursley Hampshire
Father William Trodd Mother Jane.
Celia P.S. These are taken from records so not submitted

Thank you for those.
I think I have traced these and found they married other people, but I will double check.

Hi,
There is also
JOHN TRODD - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Male Christening: 21 JUL 1762 Saint Maurice, Winchester, Hampshire, England
But I haven't been able to find a link to that one.
And it is earlier than the date of 1765 calculated from the 1841 Census.
Thanks
Ed

To Bearkat: Did any of the Trodd boys, namely William Charles TRODD who married a Fanny Louise BEAVIS turn up in your research on Itchen Ferry Village as William was my wife's Grandfather?
-
Do you have a date of birth for William Charles TRODD?
-
Hi,
Wm. Chas TRODD; b: 1879; m:1904.
Pete.
-
Is he the son of Edward & Sarah?
-
This looks good! Yes, he was. Pete.
-
Edward's father was Charles (married to Charlotte MOODY).
Charles was a son of John & Martha mentioned at the beginning of this thread.
-
Is myWm Chas TRODD any relation/interest to you as I can come forward to his grand daughter, my wife?
-
Yes, William Charles TRODD is a relation of mine. I'm not sure what yet. ???
I would be grateful for information about him as I have nothing more recent than the marriage of Charles & Charlotte.

May be worth a look.
