Lots of Ann Fages & lots of confusion!
John Goss (b 1749 in Sandy) m Elizabeth Angel in 1772 and Ann Fage in 1788.
Up until now I had Ann Fage (b 1744 in Sandy) daughter of John Fage (b 1711( & Elizabeth Sexton (b 1717);
with children of Samuel (b 1789), Thomas (b 1790), Jeremiah (b 1793), Ann (b 1795), Sarah (b 1800), Samuel (b 1803) and Edith (b 1806).
I think I have missed a generation of Fages. Some trees on Ancestry suggest that Ann Fage was born in 1767 and daughter of John Fage and Mary Ayres. This would seem to be highly likely but for the fact that LDS suggests that the Ann Fage (b 1767) died in 1772.
Would appreciate any confirmation of the "facts".

Have visitors at the moment so haven't had chance to study your dilemma. Will do so as soon as I get a minute of peace. But you have a 62 year old having a child in 1806 which must be wrong
There are burials in Sandy of Ann Fage on 15 May 1772, 18 Mar 1777, 9 Dec 1778, and 15 Dec 1795. As no ages are given it will take reference to the parish register to try to separate them eg dau of ....., wife of...., widow of....

Sorry, slowly working thru this ::)
Most records of marriage of John Goss are submitted , so to be treated with caution.
This is the only extracted one I can find and it is not in Sandy :-\
John GOSS

Could John GOSS, born 1776, son of John and Elizabeth have married a Ann and some of the children born 1789+ be his :D
I will leave this in DAVIDS expert hands :) :)
Trish ( off to make dinner ::))

That's a cop out Trish!!!! Hope your meal was as good as my cassoulet! Took my visitor to a brasserie for it, washed down by loads of local wine. She's sleeping it off now, so I have a few minutes to look at Fags and Gosss. Except I think it needs more than a few minutes.
There are 5 Ann Fage baptisms in Sandy, one marriage (member submission so needs checking), and four burials, plus only one burial of an Ann Goss in the right timescale.
The following is pure speculation and everything should be checked with Sandy parish register
What it looks like to me is:
Ann FAGE
Bap 9 Jan 1745 Bur 15 May 1772
Bap 1 Feb 1767 Marr John Goss 1788 Bur 10 May 1848 age 81*
Bap 31 mar 1776 Bur 18 Mar 1777
Bap 30 Nov 1778 Bur 9 Dec 1778
Bap 13 Feb 1795 Bur 15 Dec 1795
John Goss/Elizabeth (Angel?) Blunham parish register needs to be checked to confirm if John was of Sandy or otp. There was also a John Goss baptised in Blunham in 1751. It seems more likely to me that it was this John who married Elizabeth Angel, and they then moved to Sandy. There are three baptisms in Sandy on the IGI of their children 1776-1782 as detailed by Trish
John Goss/Ann Fage marriage 1788 - again the parish register needs checking. Was John described as widower? An Elizabeth Goss was buried in Sandy on 1 Nov 1787. Was she described as wife of John?
The Blunham marriage could have been John 1751 from Blunham, and the 1788 marriage John 1749 from Sandy
There are John Goss burials in Sandy on 2 Jan 1784; 5 Jan 1803; 4 Jan 1821 age 44; and 26 Dec 1824 age 78
We can speculate until the cows come home. It needs reference to the parish registers of Sandy and Blunham to try to sort these out
David
* In 1841 she was living in Sandy age 75 (transcribed as Ann GOGO - was she a dancer?)

Thanks David for all your efforts. I have stored the information you sent which might be useful one I obtain further information. Hopefully, I will get to UK sometime to check the parish registers and verify the facts.
Meanwhile, I am going to assume that John Goss (1749) married Elizabeth Angel in 1772 and married (a second time) Ann Fage (b 1767) and married in 1788. It ties in best, for the moment, with the information I have.
Perhaps she was a gogo dancer - it might be our only claim to fame!!!
Thanks for your efforts.

hello David, .... & David & Trish,
moo ! the cows are coming home !
when David issues an instruction & now I see it's in red ink then so be it...
OK . where to start . all at Sandy unless I say otherwise...
The marriage to Ann Fage on 20/10/1788 says John Goss is a widower.
The burial of Elizabeth Goss on 01/11/1787 says she's wife of John
Banns read at Sandy on 4/10/1772 says Elizabeth Angell is from Blunham
The Blunham marriage on 14/10/1772 of John Goss to Elizabeth Angell says he's from Sandy
The Ann Fage burials
on 15/05/1772 is daughter of John Fage
on 18/03/1777 is daughter of Thomas Fage
on 09/12/1778 is daughter of James Fage
on 15/12/1795 is daughter of James Fage
The John Goss burials
on 02/01/1784 just says he's a gardener, from the workhouse; pauper
on 05/01/1803 just says he's a labourer
the 1821 & 1824 ones you need to go to Archives to look up.
The John Goss baptised Blunham 18/08/1751 was son of Thomas & Judith Goss; on that same day they baptised daughter Judith.
The 5 IGI member submissions of baptisms & burials tie in well to the register entries
on 09/01/1744 daughter of John & Elizabeth Fage
John Fage & Elizabeth Sexton married 11/10/1737
on 31/03/1776 daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Fage
Thomas Fage & Elizabeth Hickley married 19/07/1773
on 30/11/1778 daughter of James & Elizabeth Fage & was buried 09/12/1778
on 18/02/1795 daughter of James & Elizabeth Fage & was buried 15/12/1795
James Fage & Elizabeth Blain married 01/03/1778
on 01/02/1767 daughter of John & Mary Fage & buried 15/05/1772
John Fage & Mary Ayres married 24/03/1764
EXCEPT for Ann, daughter of John Fage who was buried 15/05/1772
?? was she from John & Elizabeth Sexton; or John & Mary Ayres.
it doesn't say & it doesn't give her age
Also note that Sarah daughter of John & Ann Goss on 28/12/1800 was 2 year old at the time
Sort that lot out. All the best.
Cheers John

Nice one John. Pretty well sews it all up.
The red ink by the way was a speculation warning, not an instruction to get down the library pdq. Surely you didn't need another haircut already!
I wonder what became of John Goss of Blunham. I can't see a marriage or a burial.

What if John Goss b 1751 Blunham went to live & work in Sandy in 1772 & came home to marry local girl Eliz Angell ?
This John Goss, son of Thomas & Judith had sister Jane b 15/06/1746 Blunham - who could be the one who married George Cooper on 29/10/1770 at Blunham.
Note Judith Goss wife of Thomas (of Moggerhanger as per Blunham with Moggerhanger PR) was buried on 5 Jul 1758. After which Thomas widower then married Eliz Cowper widow on 9 May 1763
