Hi There!
I was wondering if someone could help with tracing the Bewick Family.
Thomas W Bewick b 1830 ~Jarrow Durham,
Sarah Harvey b1832 Walker Durham,
Mary J b 1860 Trimdon Durham,
Thomas b 1864 Castle Eden Durham,
Abraham Harvey b1866 Canonbie Scotland,
Sarah D b 1870 Canonbie Scotland
Thomas W born 1880 Spen Durham.
I have found them on the England Census for 1861 and 1881. I can't find them in 1871 and 1891 onwards. I do know that Abraham Harvey Bewick moved to South Africa at some stage, I do not know what has happend to the rest of the family. They were a mining family. Abraham married Mary Mortimer nee Mckinnon in 1898 in Newcastle Natal South Africa.
For the 1871 census i have looked at scotlands people and found nothing.
Thank you

From the Bishop Transcript page Thomas and Dorothy Bewick lived in Jarrow Row when young Thomas was born and Thomas sr was a Collier. That would be in the 1816-1830 section page 471.
Bishop's transcripts can be found:
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1199543524890#p=0
Getting one of the birth certs from Scotland's People for Abraham or Sarah may give you Thomas and Sarah's wedding date and where they married.
Other places on line that you might get help is the IGI - Hugh Wallace site:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm
Much of the information I have is not on line but on microfilm and fiche here at my house
You will find Thomas, Dorothy children including your Thomas jr on the 1851 census living in Monk Hesledon
HO107/2392 folio 186, page 19
Kelloe St Helen baptisms: all children of Thomas Bewick and Dorothy Walker
John Walker Bewick baptised 27 Sept 1835 living New Thornley
Abraham Bewicke baptised 27 May 1838 (living New Row Coxhoe)
Mary Isabella Bewick was baptised 28 Aug 1842 2nd dau of Thomas Bewick and Dorothy Walker, Coxhoe, Pitman
These would be siblings of Thomas.
Another subscription site would be: http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/index.php

Hi, I am part of the Abraham Harvey Bewick clan who landed up in South Africa. His one son, Redvers Vere Bewick was my grandfather. He maried Katie (?) and they had two sons, Roderick Stephan Bewick and Kenneth Vere Bewick and lived in Germiston, South Africa.
