Attached is a photograph of my great grandmother Louisa Staker with son George c. 1915. It is a scan of a large 16 x 12 photo that has been folded and damaged in the past. Any help to restore this picture would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you all for your efforts restoring my photo. You are all very talented. It is amazing what can be done with what looks like non-fixable photos.
I really appreciate your help.
Cheers

hi Neil when you get a photo that is as badly creased as this one. It helps if you scan it one way then turn the photo 90degrees and scan the other way.
We can then overlay them and it generally removes most of the nasty light/shadow differences from the creasing which will help reduce repair time and possible further damage.
Of course, I realise this particular photo is probably to big to do that on a A4 home scanner but its worth remembering for the future or for others looking in who want to post similarily creased photos.
well done Guys, not an easy one to do

My Goodness! I never realized what at talented bunch of people can be found at this site. I am amazed what all of you have been able to accomplish given the qualility of the original. My hat is off to you all.
Thank you once again.
