HI All
I am searching for the Death Registration of a JOHN OWEN DAVIES Born 1847 He was alive in 1901 as he appears on the Census living in Spital Bromborough, Cheshire, with his Wife & Children.
On the 1911 Census his wife is recorded as a Widow still living in Spital Bromborough, Cheshire,
I searched the Ancestry Death Index the only one I can find is for a JOHN OWEN DAVIES born 1847
Death Reg 1910, My problem is that the Death was registered in LIVERPOOL my question is was it possible to register a Death anywhere or did it have to be in the area in which you resided which in this case would have been the area of WIRRAL.
Regards

Hi Pughy
I believe the death had to be registered in the area in which it took place. Maybe he died at work or something?
Alternatively, he might not have been registered using his middle name - plenty of John DAVIESes about, I imagine?

The death was usually registered in the place the person died, rather than where they lived.
Maybe he was in hospital in Liverpool and died there ?

The death HAD to be registered in the Registration Sub-District in which it took place.
