I am coming to UK from Australia in 7 weeks time and will be spending 5 nights in Newcastle. I was born ib Byker but moved to London when I was very young so don't remember much about it. Can anyone point me to the best places to visit for help with my family history. My Northumberland surnames are Matfin, Jobling, White, Snowball, Fraser, Watson, and Hall. My ancesters occupations were Shipwrights, Keelmen, and Coalminers. I would really appreciate any advice, thanks, Jabawak

Tyne & Wear Archives (filmreaders to be booked ! )
Northumberland County Record Office, Woodhorn ( If you have research in what is modern-day Northumberland)
Newcastle City Library will be closed while you are here
Maybe Durham County Record Office ( in County Durham)
