Title: question about death certificate
Post by: cass75 on Monday 06 April 09 20:42 BST (UK)
I have a death certificate for an ancestor with cause of death stated as "tuberculor meningitis certified one month" - does this mean that she had had the illness for a month before she died?
Thanks

Thanks - I thought so but having never come across it before, I thought I'd better check rather than just assume!!!

she would probably have had it for a lot longer than a month - tuberculous meningitis was a slow and unpleasant way to die   :(  - but maybe it was only diagnosed a month before her death.

Hi

Yes, I would think she was diagnosed with it 1 month before she died. She may have been ill for longer than that.
