H Jan, thank you very much for the reply.
Edwards brothers and sisters were

Frederick b1883
James     b1885
Elias        b1890
Samuel    b1892
Caroline   b1893
Gilbert G  b1894
Henry      b 1896
Ellen Roseb 1900
Thomas  c1904
Abraham 1906 -1906

On the 1881 Census, William( their Father) lived in Yarcombe as an agricultural labourer for William Ackland Ellis. Their mother was Isabella Billing. They married in Dec 1881.
On the 1901 census it shows William and Isabella living at Beat Close Cottage, Awliscombe, Honiton, Devon.

On the 1891 Census it shows Caroline age 8, William j age 6, frederick age 4 and elias age 1
Is this of any help
Regards
Nicola

Hello,
I don't know if it's relevant, but I have been researching the history of the Barry Buddon army training ground near Dundee. I recently purchased a pull-out postcard of the camps, postmarked Edinburgh, August 1928, with a very short message beginning "Dear Mother...", signed "Reg", and addressed to Mrs C(?) Northam, Woodside Cottage, Blackmoon(?), Wellington, Somerset. If your grandfather was in the army or the territorials, might this be from him? I can send a scan of the card & message if it's of interest.
Colin

Hi Colin, sorry for the delay in replying but have only just realised how to retrieve these messages. My Grandfather was in the Army and based in Edinburgh. My Grandmother lived in Taunton/Wellington. My great grandmother lived in Wellington.
Would it be possible to have a copy of the postcard you mentioned if you still have it.
Regards and thanks,
Nicola

I'll have to check, but these names are the names of my ancestors too....If it IS the same family in Devon, I have photos of Eli, Isabella, etc....
