Hello,
I don't know if it's relevant, but I have been researching the history of the Barry Buddon army training ground near Dundee. I recently purchased a pull-out postcard of the camps, postmarked Edinburgh, August 1928, with a very short message beginning "Dear Mother...", signed "Reg", and addressed to Mrs C(?) Northam, Woodside Cottage, Blackmoon(?), Wellington, Somerset. If your grandfather was in the army or the territorials, might this be from him? I can send a scan of the card & message if it's of interest.

Hi Colin, sorry for the delay in replying but have only just realised how to retrieve these messages. My Grandfather was in the Army and based in Edinburgh. My Grandmother lived in Taunton/Wellington. My great grandmother lived in Wellington.
Would it be possible to have a copy of the postcard you mentioned if you still have it.
Regards and thanks,
Nicola

I'll have to check, but these names are the names of my ancestors too....If it IS the same family in Devon, I have photos of Eli, Isabella, etc....
