I am hoping that someone might be able to tell me a marriage date and place in Antrim for Alexander Steele and Joanna McLaughin around 1820-30?
Not much to go on but that is all I have.
Thanks so much,
Lindentree

Civil registration of Catholic marriages began 1864 (other marriages from 1845) so before those dates you need to search for church records (if they exist).

Does a list exist for Catholic churches---or can you suggest the next step.... I found these two entries in griffiths;
Alexander Steel, in the townland of Ballygalley, Parish of Carncastle, Union of Larne, Barony of Upper Glenarm, in the County Antrim. The valuation ID is 51008, Printing Date 1861, Act 15&16, Image ID 007051,Sheet Number 35.(Landlord was Agnew Robert).
Also a William Steel near by.
Searching a second time I find Jane Steele,on Dunluce St. in the townland of Townparks, Parish of Larne, Union of Larne, Barony of Upper Glenarm, in the County Antrim. , Printing Date 1861, Act 15&16, Image ID 007051,(landlord was Francis Wiles).
I only know of one child from this marriage- Margaret, born 1834 in county Antrim, married about 1857 in Virginia,USA.
Thanks so much.

I suspect that this is not a catholic marriage as their daughter converted to the catholic faith as an adult....

I believe Alexander Steele & Joanna Mclaughlin are my 3rd greatgrandparents.
Were you ever able to find a marriage certificate for them?
