Hi everyone
I am looking for another relative (as usual very little info)
Would appreciate any help in locating a Sybil Wilson who emigrated to Philadelphia before WW2. Was last believed to be living at:-
3195 New Malta Street.
Only other info, was believed to have travelled back to Liverpool on the Slylvana in early 1950's. Reason just family visit.
Before marriage maiden name was Keeling. Lived in Buxton Derbyshire.
Husbands name maybe Jack or John.
Help would be appreciated.
Henery :)

I gather these are her vital statistics?

(a.k.a. Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire)
And perhaps this is Sybil (though the birth quarter doesn't quite jibe)?

Hi Lambendsor(aka IGS)
Thanks for your prompt response.
You are spot on with details of Sybil Keeling!!
John Wilson and district Chapel-en-le-Frith for marriage fits in perfectly.
The date of Sybil's death is a bonus. Have you any idea if they had children?
Many thanks
Henery :) :)

As listed in the 1930 Census and passenger list above, it appears that they had a son named Richard.

Hi shelleyesq
Pleased to meet you.
Sorry for my slow acknowledgement. Computer problem, hopefully now sorted.
First let me thank you for the smart work you have carried out on my Sybil Wilson search. The info you provided is outstanding. It is very detailed and matches in with the sparse info I have here.
Can I assume that John Wilson served in both WW1 and WW2?
You are correct you had supplied info about a son (Richard), presumably this was an only child.
Thanks once again for your input.
Regards
Henery :) :)

You're quite welcome, Henery.
It looks like John did fight in WWI. As for WWII, all men of a certain age were required to complete the draft registration cards. The cards currently available to the public are from what is referred to as the "old man's draft", as the men were all over 40. From what I've read, most of these men did not get drafted or fight in WWII.

Hello again shelleyesq.
Thanks for your swift reply about John Wilson's war service.
Most of the men over 45 in the UK during WW11 were expected to register for some kind of service.
Is it possible to find any further info about Richard S Wilson, his son, born 1921?
The family are in raptures about the info you have supplied, it is starting to fill gaps in the older generations memory.
Regards
Henery :) :)

I found some possible matches on Richard. As he may still be living, I'll send them to you via PM.
-
Hello again shelleyesq.
Thanks for your PM about Richard Wilson.
I would not dispute your first assumption, as you rightly point out his occupation fits in perfectly.
This info gives me a good idea of the family history in the USA.
You have supplied the UK Branch of Sybil'sfamily with many points of discussion!!
Congratulations on your sterling work.
Henery :) :) :)

Shellyesq that’s amazing info. Thanks. Sybil Wilson (nee Keeling) was my late Grandad’s sister. I’ve read the amazing info you’ve shared with a Henery in the past, it’s like having all the old family stories I’ve grown up with finally come to life. Have you any more recent info. Is Henery a family member do you know ?

From the above, it looks like Henery is a relative of Sybil's, but I don't know any more than that.
Additional genealogical info:
