Post by: anderton on Monday 30 March 09 12:24 BST (UK)
Am looking for info re Eliza Windsor and family - she was married toa Jeffery Dunning at St Mary de Lode Church, C=Gloucester on 29 May 1838.  She had a daughter Elily Eliza Dunning bor August 1842.  If anyone could help me with this I'd be very grateful, thanks, anderton

1851 Census Charles the Martyr Plymouth

1 Chapel Cottage

Mary Rice  head Wid 60 Laundress  b Poltimore Devon
Jeffrey Dunning Grandson 11 scholar b Devon Plymouth
Deaper  do            do         5    do      b Jersey

If these are the correct family I don't know where Eliza and Jeffrey snr are
and can't see the daughter who should have been around 8.

What was Jeffrey's occupation at time of marriage?
Had Eliza been married before - I'm just trying to work out how the Grandmother could be Rice

Who were Eliza's parents

Sorry for all the questions but they may help determine the correct family

I'll keep hunting

Joy

Hi Joyful, thanks so much for your help so far - you've been great.  As to the questions, it looks as if Jeffery dunning, who was a Master Mariner, may have been out of the country at this time.  I don't think Eliza had been married before.  Eliza's parents were Mary Ann nee Street and Draper Windsor, a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.  Does this help Joyful? I hope so, any info you can find would be great thanks anderton

Hi Anderton

Still looking for Emily Eliza Dunning but so far no luck ??? I suspect that she may have died or else is hiding
with her parents in the 1851 census.

Have found Jeffrey b Oct Qtr 1839 Plymouth and Draper Windsor b Oct Qtr 1874 Lambeth Greater London.
There was the Dreaper ( mistranscription of Draper?) that I found in the 1851 Census that I posted.
suspect he died but haven't found the birth or death details yet.

Forward Ho

Joy
