Looking for information on George Hibbert born c 1837 London,Surrey, or his ancestors. George married Elizabeth Brandreth in 1860 in Derbyshire. George was a marble worker in 1881 census............Sammy

George's marriage certificate should show his father and his occupation, which will help you to trace him in earlier census.

cant find them in 1851 then George is living with Elizabeths family in 1861 which im sure you have already?

Hi Sammy

I think it would be best to obtain George's marriage certificate since he isn't always consistant that his birthplace was Surrey. He is consistant about his age though birth circa 1837 and depending on when his birthday was in the year circa 1836. Since civil registration didn't start until 1st July 1837 the chances are his birth was before civil registration. Lambeth now part of London is not close to Windsor and the Surrey Berkshire county border.
