Hi,
Can someone please tidy up and date these photos.

Hi!

Hi Lozza
The second picture is 1920s - dropped waist and bob hairstyle. Not quite sure about the first - it might be 1870s -1880s. I don't have my books with me and older women might not have kept up with the fashion trends :-\
I love the parrot :D

I haven't done one of these in a while so I've had a quick go at tidying up the 2nd picture. I've only had time to spend 20 or 30 mins on it though so it's not perfect. If anyone wants to continue with it, help yourself. I might continue with it tonight when I get back in
Thanks
Mark

Hi All
Thank you for your efforts, they are great and I love the color. I am not very computer savvy so your talents amaze me.
The dates on the second photo help me to confirm that they are my father and his sister.
The lovely family in the first photo could be my fathers grandmother and her parents. They were Irish immigrants to Australia so the cockatoo is an Aussie touch. I have recently found the photos and have no relatives that can identify the people so your help is greatly appreciated.

Second pic definitely 1920s as Gadget says :) A lovely photo, too.
The first picture is more difficult because the couple is older and probably not up to date with their clothes...is the photo stuck to card at all? Is there anything on the card, either front or back? Printed photographer's name etc?
My guess is that it's probably 1880s or 90s, but it really is hard to tell. I love the cocky - I've had a flock of them screeching in my paddock this afternoon, hanging upside down in the big gum tree and flapping their wings ;D

Hi Prue
Unfortunately there is nothing markings on the photo and it is just the photo-no card. I'm not sure if it is a copy, but it has been hidden away in a tin for at least 20 years, when my auntie died, and I'm not sure where she found it.

Ah, I can see now that it's printed with a white border...that means it is probably a reprint of an earlier photo. Looks like this version was printed in the 1930s-50s or something, by the look of the texture on it.
I'll probably stick with my guess of 1880s-90s for when it was originally taken :)
