Title: Re: US Census through 1920
Post by: peep on Wednesday 25 March 09 16:34 GMT (UK)
Hello  I am looking for info on Barbara Alice Bowen born abt 1910 in Bilston Wolverhampton England. I think that she may have married a chap called P Wood either in England or USA, possibly in the Washington area. Her father was Arthur Kendrick Bowen and mother's maiden name was Jessie Sproat born in Walsall England. Many thanks. Peep.

Do you know about when she came to the US and/or married?  If she came after 1930, she wouldn't be on any census records that are available now.

Could this be her?

Obitsarchive.com seems to have an obituary for that Barbara Wood, although it's a pay site.

There are some family trees posted at Ancestry that indicated that Barbara Alice Bowen, born 08 Jun 1910, married Philip Wood and that she died 5 May 2003 in Olympia, Washington (it would seem the information posted in the tree are a year out based on the obit and SSDI). A couple of the trees indicate she married 2 Jan 1950 in Loughborough, England and that she was married twice and had two sons. Unfortunately none of the trees identify this second husband.
