Hi, I thought I would let you know about this website, associated with the local Heritage Centre, which carries information and photographs relating to this part of Aberdeenshire in North East Scotland. Photographs show a number of locations past and present, often with people associated, many of whom have been identified. The website is increasingly proving to be of use in genealogical studies in this part of Scotland.

Hi "JumbledJim"
Whilst we were up there, around the 20th.September onward to approx. 27th/29th. That same week Alford had the Auto museum open, they had a carboot going, the miniature railway (small gauge) working, as it is no longer the full blown affair and an auction of sorts as well as a genealogical event. Plenty to do and see full of interest. Worth the trip. Held on the Friday, the events run all day. The railway is run by enthusiasts and is very reasonably priced, only 50p each way per person, and if you want to you can get off and walk through the park.
