I should have a mother and three children travelling together, 1868-1869
Surname is Cohen (could be listed as Cohn, Kohn, Cohan, Kahan etc)
Mother is Anna - age about 30 (Channe, Hanne)
Abraham/Abram - age 10-12
Lena/Lene/Lela - age 6-8
Wolf or William - age 3-6
They were Russian, but probably would have listed Germany or Poland as their origin.
Thanks in advance.

Ellis Island records 1892-1924 (www.ellisisland.org) so for earlier records you need Castle Garden (www.castlegarden.org)- free. However, earlier passenger lists give little detail- usually name, age (not always correct), occupation, country of origin.

I tried them with no luck. Castlegarden has no Russians in the 1868-69 time frame. 1866 and after 1870, yes. I dont think these years have been digitized. I was hoping someone had an analog source they could consult.
Does anyone know if the database Castlegarden uses is the same as NARA's and includes "Russians, Germans and Italians to America"?

Its possible. The time frame would be 1862-1867. one ancestor said she was born in England in one census. But I have no other records to support.
