I have in my family tree Sarah jane loughridge b.1882?
                                                         d.12/3/1928                               
her father was a joseph loughridge farmer
her mother was a margaret loughridge ms johnston

can anyone give me info on the loughridges not been very lucky searching on-line
thanks in advance

also does anyone know where the name McFetters originates from?

If you do a parent search on LDS site (www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp) - just put in father's name and mother's name and nothing else then click search- lots of children for Joseph Loughridge are show (submitted and extracted).

Joseph and Margaret were married on 15th Dec 1874 at Newtown Crommelin Church of Ireland in the Parish of Newtown Crommelin, Civil District Ballymena
County Antrim.

For those interested in this loughridge connection, I have done some research on and off for a number of years and have information relating to Loughridge in antrim,also Loughridge links and marriages in Scotland, in particular the Midlothian/edinburgh areas. I have also travelled to NI on a number of occasions and whilst there,have taken the trouble to visit a number of older cemeteries to gather information. Much of it is still on my camera as i dont have time to transcribe or update my website at this stage!

Your question about McFetters: MacLysaght tells us in The Surnames of Ireland that the name occurs in Tyrone and Derry, meaning son of Peter.

GRO registration shows the name spreads wider through 9-county Ulster, plus a couple of Fetters in Co Carlow.
