Hi Cheryl,

I think it's Tavanagh Street which runs from Donegall Road to Tate's Avenue, Belfast

I have cross referenced the marriage index's available at : http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=2;t=searchable;c=1408347

and they were married between July and Sept 1916
Volume: 1 Page: 332.
This is enough info along with their names to get a copy of marriage certificate from GRONI in Belfast.
It will have both Fathers names and other info that will help you find the birth date of your grandfather.

Just found marriage details :15th Aug 1916 at Saint Johns Laganbank Church of Ireland
in the Parish of Knockbreda Civil District Belfast County Antrim .

Hi cheryl

You could also try www.ancestryireland.com
You can search for the marriage using the details OTTO gave you.

Ancestry Ireland gives you the same details as is on the Marriage Certificate and it only costs £4. You can buy credits using a Credit Card.
I have found the Marriage and can tell you that both fathers were called David.

It also gives the Birth of Margaret Jane Clare

Am a bit concerned about the dates here- Samuel CROWE born c1900 married 1916? The 1916 marriage OTTO found seems correct but could Samuel be a bit older than you suppose, Cheryl.
Found a ten year old Samuel Crowe  in 1911 census with father's name David:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001578624
There's also a William Samuel, son of David Crowe, here:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001471761

You might want to search for others:

Thanks, am not sure when Samuel was born.  Think he died around 1955-1960.
Did have Margaret Clare as being born in 1895 but was sure it was her I found in 1905.   Do know that she died 22 October 1967.
With my mother now having demetia very hard to get info from her.

Think that mum''s brother Herbert born 1917.
Brother David born 1919 but died age 4.
Seven other siblings between then and 1933ish.

If the 1916 marriage is correct the a birth for Margaret Clare in 1905 is extremely unlikely (an 11 year old would not be marrying). There seem to be 2 possiblities- either 1916 is not correct couple or ages of both Samuel and Margaret are much earlier than you thought.
The fact that the 1916 marriage names match and you know of children born 1917 and 1919 point to ages of Samuel and Margaret being earlier than 1900. It is, of course, possible that neither were living in Antrim or Down at time of 1911 census.
Think you need to get the 1916 marriage to see residences as well we what fathers' names and occupations were.

Cheers.  Did find a birth on ancestry for Samuel Crowe - 1891 father David.
This would make sense if margaret born 1895.
Is there any way to check gravestone inscription for Samuel at Dundonald Graveyard?

No Crowe entries in RSJ Clarke's book "Gravestone Inscriptions Co Down Vol. 2" which covers Dundonald Graveyard.  This is the old burying place adjoining the Church of Ireland and Presbyterian churches and the book usually only has details of headstones with at least one pre 1900 burial.

Are you sure this is the right graveyard?  More likely is Dundonald Cemetery, opened in 1905 by Belfast City Council.  You can contact the Cemeteries and Crematorium Department of the City Council via http://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/cemeteries/cemeterydetails.asp?id=58

They may be able to help you with burial records.

Claude.
Do you have a ellen Crowe born about 1856 and married James Watson on 25 02 1882 in your tree?
