Title: WATSON'S of Bengeworth/Evesham
Post by: Coningesby on Thursday 17 February 05 11:40 GMT (UK)
I am descended from this family. I have a copy of the pedigree, which goes back to 1500, and wondered if any other researchers/descendants were investigating the family?

Dear Barry
I'm interested in a possible link with your Watsons. In the will of Jane Oswald of Weston in Zoyland in the County of Somersett widdowe (dated 22 Apr 1658; proved 29 Jun 1659), she mentions "cozen John Watson". Then, in 1662, there was an Indenture between her son, James Oswald, and "Thomas Watson of Bengworth in the County of Woster gent" (amongst others). Jane Oswald was the sister of Thomas Crompton of Lincoln's Inn, who died in 1655. Have you come across any Cromptons by any chance?
Kind regards
Ted

Dear Ted,

Sorry to say I have not seen either Crompton or Oswald during my Watson
research.
Nevertheless, it is interesting!

I will send you my Email address on private message, then if you want, I can send you our pedigree.

Best Wishes Barry
