Hello Margaret...what a lovely photo...if you have the original would it be possible to give us a higher resolution scan, say 300-600dpi? Sue has done some very nice restores for you, but there might be someone who could give it a little colour and a bigger scan would be a benefit.

There's a tutorial at the top of the board if you need help...

Cheers,
China

Hello Sue

Thank you for lovely restoration. I will try to reset my scanner to higher resolution. The photo was taken in the mid 1890's i think as Richard was born in 1873.

Thanks again

Margaret

Hi Rabbit...I don't know much about dating men's fashions but the setting has an 1890s look to it...it's a very nice photo and I am lusting after that little settee :)

Cheers,
China

hi China,

i reckoned he was about 27 but it looks as if i am wrong, unless that was an old piece of furniture when the picture was taken.

have have to agree with you, it is a very nice piece indeed

PS i have to say that i thought his collar style was later than that but he doesn't look that old.

hi China,

i was looking at the shape of the knot in his tie and mentally working out the collar shape from that.

you wouldn't really want my eyes, got to have an op on one of those soon. ::)  just got goods specs for VDU work.
they help a lot.
