I received this email today. Thought I would pass it on for those of you who are experiencing the same problem when ordering birth, death and marriage certificates using family search details-
Thank you for your email enquiry
Although you have the references from the indexes they are not our references. Our references need a book and entry number to get the certificate for £6.
Our telephone staff will not take in applications unless you are able to give at least one parents name. However if you send me your address I will send you forms which you can send back by post for my attention and if you write those reference details on them I will see they are taken in for you but they will be £12 each.
Regards
Carol Bell

I suspect that the details required for NI records are the same as for visitors ( or post) to the GRO in Dublin,
Full Name
Year / Quarter
Registration District
Volume Number
Page Number
all the other details on familysearch are LDS references and would be of no use to PRONI or GRO
