Title: I am looking for old photographs Drogheda 1949 -1954.
Post by: charles w on Tuesday 17 March 09 16:18 GMT (UK)
I am looking for old photographs taken in Drogheda 1949 -1954 around the Blessed Oliver Plunket parades.  They were usually held around the first week in May.  Any help, as to where I may get them, would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried Old Drogheda Society ? You can contact them thru their web site....
http://www.millmount.net/
and then via the contact us tab.

Alternatively you might try the local newspaper 'Dogheda Independant' at.....
http://www.drogheda-independent.ie/
and then via the contact us tab.

Other options may be the Co. Louth Archive Services and the Drogheda Library

Try Boyne Books in Drogheda either - he has a lot of historical stuff particularly relating to Drogheda.  I know he was selling maps for the old Drogheda society in there recently and I have seen old photos too.
