Looking for Mary Jane Savage b 1858 Hemyock Devon possibly married to Thomas Savage (?).
Before marraige she was Mary Jane Manley.
On 1881 census she has been widowed and has 2 daughters, Louisa Savage b 1879 and Mary Ann Savage b 1877.
Living in erasmus st, st alkmund, Derby.
She could be in the Derby area under either name.
Also did she remarry by the 1901 census. (did she marry one of her 1881 lodgers - George Fox or Fred Wright??)
Also was her sister Sarah Ann Manley (b 1858, Hemyock Devon) living in Derby during these years.
Any help would be grateful.
thanks

Thanks Sunflower
So she was in Devon area with the rest of her family, not very far from home in Hemyock.
Do you know if her sister Sarah Ann Manley b1858? Hemyock was also in the Devon area, perhaps also in service?
Thanks again

Thanks for the remarriage info about Mary.
It seems the birth of Thomas Savage must have been a close shave!! To be legit , she must have been carrying him during the census, with her previous husband having only just died!?!
(Assuming that the dates are recorded accurately.)
Do you happen to know if Sarah Jane (or Ann) Manley was also in Derby? And had she married and moved to Derby or stayed in Devon. (in 1871she is a servant in West Buckland).
born 1858 Hemyock daughter of John and Mary Manley
Thanks for all your help

hello sunflower
This is great about the two sisters. There must be a family connection with Derby for them both to go there?
I will try to check that they are still around in 1901, And find Sarah Ann in 1881 (I dont know why I did not find her before) And see if anyone has 1861 to find them as children at home with parents in Hemyock Devon.
It was only a dead link on search, that gave me the first idea that they existed ( my grandfather was the 12th out of 13 children. and these 2 are the oldest.)
many thanks for all your help
Jane
