Hello
I believe my grandmother was Janet (Janie) Kilkenny from Frenchpark and her mother may have been Bridgette Lafferty or maybe Laverty.
I am interested in finding out as mush as possible about both the Kilkennys or Laffertys and their origins.
Thanks
Shelly

dont know the timeframe that your Kilkenny and Lafferty ancestors lived in Frenchpark but there are three (possibly 4) Kilkenny entries in Griffiths (1850s/1860s) for the Civil Parish of Tibohine, which contains the town of Frenchpark.
see : http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_family_search_form.php
There are also three or four Lafferty entries in the same parish.

Thank you Shane this has been really helpful
Will keep doing more research as I am sure some of these must be distant relations.

Hi,
I am looking for more information on the Lafferty's of Frenchpark as well. My great grandmother Mary/Marianne is listed as living there on the 1901/1911 Ireland Census. Her maiden name was Casserly. She had a daughter Bridget. Have you been able to acquire any more info on your Lafferty of Frenchpark? Frenchpark was such a small place, there is a good chance they are related.
