Title: Brighton - Coleman Street
Post by: ClairP1980 on Sunday 15 March 09 19:45 GMT (UK)
Hi,

I'm a bit stuck.  ???  I have a voters list of everyone at a certain address where I know my ancestors lived, but can't seem to connect them. Here it is:

From documents at Brighton.

1915 - Lucy Chapman (nee Parker)
1920-1927 – Charles and Caroline Warr (Lucy’s daughter)
1933 – Martha Warr (Charles' sister) plus above.
1936 – Charles Warr and Jane Elizabeth Warr and Jane Elizabeth Weller
Up to 1947 – Charles Warr and Jane Elizabeth Warr.
After 1947 – Jane Elizabeth Dedman and Geoffrey W Dedman
And afterwards Thomas Dedman??

Global Moderator - Please be careful about listing possible living persons - it is not allowed on Rootschat
I can't seem to find any evidence of the Dedmans or Weller's - Can't find anything that would fit age wise.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

C

Geoffrey W Dedman's mother's name was Weller - so hope not!

I thought that was the case though - and that Thomas was their son. But it makes more sense that Jane Weller married Charles Warr - and that the other Weller was her mother. So maybe Geoffrey was Jane's brother?

It's starting to connect... I think!

I didn't word my post very well - I meant I wonder if Geoffrey W Dedman (mother's maiden name Weller) b 1946 was the child of Geoffrey W Dedman  from voters list -who maybe married  Jane Elizabeth Weller (from voters list????

Hello dedman 76
Welcome to RootsChat

There is a private message system which can be used once you have made 3 posts -so if you reply to this and then make another one you can PM -which would be good as it is RootsChat policy not to give details of the living/maybe living /recently deceased - identity theft reasons etc

and I think we have been sailing pretty close to the wind!!!!

Regards

Hi there,

I have sent a message to the poster - just to clarify, my interest is in Caroline and Charles Warr - Caroline was my great great aunt - and the couple raised my grandfather - he is listed there in the 1911 census. I just wanted to find out who lived there when he lived there - as far as I am aware my grandfather lived there until he joined the army when he was 17. I was just trying to connect the names of the people listed as living there when my grandfather did!
Hope this clears things up, I have sent a message stating this.

Thank you!

Hi
Thats cool, was strange to see strangers trying to work out my family.
I have no info of any one who lived there before my grand parents apart from I know the house was owned by Janes mum and left to her grandchilren.
This side of family was quite priv and wasn't close to them.
I think Jane was born 1920's or before but no one knew her age?
