Don't know which state you found it, but for what its worth (as its an unusual surname), NSW BDMs indicate just a few records for the north coast of NSW, and according to the white pages, there are a couple of same suranmes still living in that area, and a few within NSW.
You could try them, its just a matter how far you want to go in trying to contact relatives. And in saying that, was it the relatives who gave the bible to the second hand dealer in the first place? Some people sell deceased estates in bulk direct to second hand dealers. They are not interested in family history, whereas people like you, me and RootChatters in general would be most grateful for your interest in trying to find the rightful owner.

Welcome, by the way, Blackadder ! (You aren't THE Blackadder, are you ??) ;D ;D ;D
I forgot to say, you can use the private message system, by clicking the little green scroll under Genefinders avatar ... BUT you need to make a couple more postings before it will work for you ... something to do with preventing spammers ... just adding another couple of posts to this thread will enable you ...

Gene, Thank you so much for your charitable action. My cousin (the daughter of the original owner) is delighted. As an aside, I haven't had contact with my cousin for more than forty years, and this posting has brought us together again. She will be visiting me in the next few days.
