Can anyone tell me exactly where the 226th siege battery of the RGA were fighting in WW1. My grandfather Lt James Alexander Platts was with this battery and I am trying to trace where he fought in the war.

226th Siege Batt deployed to Flanders in Dec 1916.
To find where they were etc you will need access to the Unit War Diary which should be at Kew you can order copies from Docs Online but may be expensive.
As he was an officer theres a good chance his record survived and is also at Kew,

I have his records that did cost quite a few pounds but they dont state on them where they were deployed, it is mainly personal things such as pension payments etc. Thank you for the assistance, much appreciated.

The War Diary for 226 Siege Battery, covering March to September 1917 only, is held at Kew under the reference WO 95/301.
