Annie (or Anna) Maria Douch was born in Burwash about 1883 , the daughter of Edward and Lydia Douch. I believe she was married in Ticehurst, December 1/4 1909 but I have been unable to trace the name of her husband. Can anybody help, please?

Hi Mimmi,
The 2 candidates being Percy Edward W Ashdown and Alfred Woodcock, my bet would be on Mr Ashdown because of this later birth registration:
Percy E Ashdown
Mar 1914
Mother's maiden name Douch
Portsmouth 2b 709

Hi Tati,
Many thanks for that. I should think that Percy Ashdown is the most likely candidate in view of the 1914 birth.

Why not play around a bit on this site?

You might find an Anne Mary Ashdown age 27 born Burwash in the same household as a Percy Edward and a little Ivy Kate ;)

Hi Tati,
Thanks for all your help. I wasn't aware that the 1911 census was available yet.

Hi there. I've just read your post on Annie Douch. I know her daughter who is 96 years old now. There are also grandchildren who are in their 70,s still around. Let me know if can be of further assistance. ps. they are all based in south england. I would like to add that there was a third child born in 1900's called Joyce M and this is the lady I know. Percy and Kate died years ago

Hi Deedee
Many thanks for that. Do you have any further details? Was Joyce or any of her siblings married and if so did they have children. Iwould be interested to know anything about the families.

Annie as you know had 3 children. Kate was the eldest and she had 4 kids who are all still alive. Percy had one son who is still here, and Joyce (who I know) did not have any children. Joyce speaks of her mother to me almost every day. Let me know if I can be of further assistance
