Gottleib was born 23/10/1812, died 10/4/1889 and Frietericke was born c1817, died 16/8/1857 Queensland Australia.
Gottleib's father was Gottleib Wilhelm KLUMPP (1788-1853) and his mother's Johanna Rosina Christiana KLEINMANN(3/6/1792 to 28/3/1843) both were born and died in Stuttgart, Germany.
His mother's father was Fredrich HEIMERDINGER and his mother was Catherine BENDER.
I am trying to trace the family before 1855 back in Germany, could someone please help me? Could someone confirm the information that I have given. Thank You

Hello O1952 :)
Welcome to Rootschat!
I can't help with your German ancestry, but wondered whether you have read the various newspaper articles regarding your Klumpps in Queensland, which are available through the National Library of Australia website? For example there is one from 1857 concerning the death of Frietericke.
If you would like more details of where to look, just ask :)
Cheers

Hi O1952,

Regards Peonie

Here you go:
http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
This should bring up the main page with a search box. I just typed in "Klumpp" and a number of hits were returned. Click on the title of each one to view an image of the article. There are a couple regarding the murders and subsequent trial of the policemen who captured, but then lost, the man accused of the crimes. There's also a few about Gottlieb later on, selling up his cattle and then an ad announcing probate for his will.

:) Hi Prue M
Thanks for the web address. It will be interesting to read the court case. I didn't know about Gottlieb selling up his cattle and the probate of his will. He later got remarried and the family moved and were pioneer in establishing the suburb of Mt Gravatt in Brisbane ,Queensland, Australia where a street is named after them ( Klumpp Road).

Hi Jilly
Thanks you for the website address, I will look it up.

Henry William Klumpp was my Great Grandfather and his daughter Martha Julia married John Trim. They were my Grandparents. Their youngest son Colin Charles married Edith Emily Kettle, my parents. I am Olwyn, their youngest daughter.
I will see if I have any information that you don't after looking at the website and arrange to send it.

Did you go to the Klumpp Reunion in 1983 ( I think)?
Give Robert my love. I saw him last December.
I have you and your children on my tree. The information was all collected when we were getting ready for the Reunion.
Are you in touch with Lorraine Jordan (not her married name)?
Jill
-
Hi Jill
Yes, I was at the Klumpp Reunion in 1983 and wouldn't it be nice to have another reunion some day?
No, I am not in touch with Lorraine Jordan and I don't know her married name if she has one. Maybe my brother and sister know, so I will ask them.
I will give Robert your love today.
What a small world it is? To come across 2 relative on the same day who know each other and turn out to be cousins of mine.
Will talk again.

Lorraine's married name is Locke. She arranged the family reunion. She still lives in Mt Gravatt.
Jill
-
Hi Jill
Thank you for Lorraine's married name.
I have been looking at some of the information from your website and it is very interesting.
I have more names of generations after Johann Georg Klumpp and Regina Barbara Michlain going back to Conrad Klumpp (1580 - 1635).
I will talk to Robert shortly and give him by phone number so we can be in touch with each other.

Hi Jill
Robert and Kay are very nice people. I found some information that I didn't have that he is copying for me. I am also copying some information for him.
I have your e mail address and will send the information to you, in the next day or so about the Klumpp's. Including copy's of Gottlieb death certificate and his second marriage certificate. I also have Fredericke's death certificate and on it her parents are Friederick Heimerdinger and mother Catherine Bender.
Talk to you later
Olwyn
-
Hi Olwyn,
I have that death certificate as well. However both the family charts from Germany ( The one for the Heimerdinger family and that of Gottlieb Klumpp) give her as Frederike Dorothea Beuter
-
Hi Jill
You mean that her mother's was Frederike Dorthea Beuter, maybe Catherine Bender was another wife of Gottlieb Snr. Is it possible that I could have copies of the family charts from Germany. Also have you got any births, deaths or marriages certificates from Germany that I could have copies of. If not, do you know how to get them. I will talk to you on email.

Hello... I am also related to the Klumpp family of Upper Mt Gravatt. My Great Grandmother was Adelia Klumpp. I went to Upper Mt Gravatt State School as did my mother and some of her siblings and also my father's siblings. My father & grand father went to Mt Gravatt State School. I was very interested reading your article as I have a copy of the book by Lorraine Jordon called "One Man's Family". I am interested in the family origins in Germany as well.
-
Hi
Sorry I haven't answered but I was overseas in America until late October. My grandmother was Adelia's younger sister Martha Julia who married John Trim. I also went to Upper Mt Gravatt School and my father and grandparents went to Mt Gravatt School. I also have the book "One Man's Family" from the reunion. I have lots of information on the Klumpp family from Germany too much to send this way, if you would give me your email address, I will send it to you. You can ring me (*) if you like.
