Where can I find details of recipients of MID's WW1. Is there a specific place that hold's records. I have tried London Gazette but no joy. Also the National Archives on line.

He should have a MIC for it on the NA Docs online site The LG search engine is notoriously hard to search what name are you after?
The MIC will cost £2 it should have the gazette number on it...if its there.

Hi,
I have seen the 3 x MIC's and all they show are the EM/2 number for the emblem, with date of issue.
Ancestry.com was searched and I found some service details but no more information.
It is doubtful that I will find the reason for the award but I would like to confirm that the details on the MIC's are correct which can only be done by looking up the appropriate LG.

Unit war diary may have details usually about 3 months between action and gazette you may be lucky with a list of awards to individuals...It could take a bit of time though!
