Would anyone know who the ownership of the Great Hotel, Tramore passed from when John Phelan died in 1870? He was a bachelor.
John Power died in 1872 and was recorded as the proprietor of the Great Hotel - had he married into the Phelan family?
Any help greatly appreciated.

A Mrs kavanagh is named as the owner of the Hotel in a Street listing for 1894.

My mother is a Phelan from Tramore, but not connected to the Grand hotel Phelan's as far as I know. However I have done a good bit on the Phelan's, and will see what I can find out for you. Are the Whittle's you are researching from Tramore as well. I have a bit on them as well, more a mystery than anything else.

Hi
The Whittles in my tree are from England.
However - I also have Phelans from Tramore in my family.
My father's coursin was Patrick Joseph Phelan b 18 Nov 1917. His mother was Catherine Power and his father was James Phelan who worked as a stone mason. Catherine died when Patrick was less than a year old and he was brought up in Bay View Cottage, Priest's Road, Tramore by his grandmother (my great grandmother) and his aunts (particular Anne Power).
Is this part of your Phelan family?
regards
Richard

James Phelan born 1881, husband of Catherine Power is my grand uncle. Most of my Phelans were stone masons. I think that they were married on 3 November 1915. James's parents were Patrick Phelan and Johanna Flynn.
