Hi
I have a Michael Cullen, on the 1871 census for Leeds he has birthplace as Ireland, County Roscommon then in 1881, French Park, Ireland. I can find French Park as a big estate but using French Park in searches doesn't seem to help, would it come under another parish?
Thanks
Jen

Not sure where you have been searching but there's a townland of Frenchpark Demense in Tibohine civil parish, Co. Roscommon.
See www.thecore.com/seanruad to find townlands and parishes in Ireland (be sure to change default setting from exact match to search for part of a word).

I'll take a look, I'm still trying to get the hang of the way it;s all organised... townlands/baronies etc, still rather confused.
Thanks

Hi
I am also trying to locate family in Frenchpark. Some of my relatives went over to Ireland a few years ago to try and find out more information.
As far as I am aware Frenchpark does not really exsist anymore and originally a small hamlet.
I am tring to find out more about my grandmother's family, I believe her maiden name was Janet or Janie Klikenny and her mother may have been Bridgette born either Lafferty or Laverty. Any information will be gratefully recieved.

Actually townlands still exist in Ireland but have stopped being used as the sole address since road names were introduced in many areas.

Thank you, I stand corrected.

Frenchpark is a village and it still exists close to the former Frenchpark estate.
