Hi,
I have an Edwin Gill born around 1837 in Weston Super Mare area.
On the 1851 census for Weston Super Mare he is 4 years old living with his widowed mother and siblings.
His mother was Sarah Gill, born around 1816 in Cheddar, Somerset.
She died Mar 1/4 1898, 82yrs, Axbridge, Somerset. V.5c, p.412.
Unfortunately, I haven't found her and her husband and their family on the 1841 census , so I don't know her husband's details and therefore not their marriage either.
Edwin Gill went on to marry Elizabeth Bawden.
She was born in Burnham on Sea around 1845.
They married Dec 1/4 1869. V.5c, p.992 Axbridge, Somerset.
I have been unable to locate Elizabeth on the 1841 census to add to her family.
I would be grateful for any help here please.
With thanks,
Tracy

Do you mean he is 4 on 1851 - or do you mean 14?
His marriage cert will give fathers name

Looking at Ann, the eldest daughter in 1851 - there is a family on the 1841 living in Weston super Mare :
1841
HO107. P. 968/8 Fol. 35 Pg. 21
High Street, Weston super Mare
GILL
Edward 25 Yeoman
?? An 25
Ann 12 month
all born in county.
There is also a death reg. for an Edward Gill Q2. 1849 AXBRIDGE Vol. 10 Pg. 6
The mother's name looks like ? Ann but is almost unreadable. Maybe Sarah Ann ?
