Hi,
I was wondering if any one may be able to help me with the following;
I have a marriage for
Richard Plackett and Susannah Barry
28th April 1829, St.James, Westminster.
I also found a son
Richard Thomas Plackett
christened 24th November 1830, St.James, Westminster.
I have his wife Alice Hurcomb and their two sons, Richard and Henry, on the 1871 census.
I found these details on the Latter Day Saints website.
I can not get back any further than Richard and Susannah. I would like to try to get back further as I know there is a large distribution of Plackett's in the Derbyshire and Northamptonshire and I suspect this is where his family came from.
With thanks
Tracy

Hello
On 1841 census there is a
Richard Plackett aged 40 Publican - not born in the county listed at 44 Vere St London- no wife or child but a variety of people listed at this address
Ref HO107 Piece 731 Book 6 in the civil parish of St Clement Danes Middlesex
I also found something else which maybe co incidental
Marriage of Susannah Plackett JQ 1842 to Stephen Goodwin ref Nottingham 15 767
I believeO this to be correct because
1851 census shows a Susannah and Stephen Goodwin living at 16 Cross St Nottingham.
There is no sign of Richard Thomas Plackett but the entry above shows a family of Placketts living next door. Head of that family is William 24 Widow and daughter Elizabeth age 3
ref H0107 piece 2132 Folio 538 Page 4
There is a Richard Plackett - in death index Northampton JQ 1839
You may need to obtain a copy of the actual marriage entry from LMA to see if it discloses Father's names. If the 1851 census is correct then Susannah came from Nottingham and you would need to refocus your search there for her.
Sorry I wasn't a lot of help
