Hi
Can anyone see if they have any information on Charles Ives, a currier (leather worker) of Laxfield. I have found trace of him in the 1844 Laxfield (Hoxne Hundred) directory, I think he was born in 1813 at Worlingworth, married to Mary??? (born 1810 ish in Fressingham) and probably had two children - Walter Henry in 1840 and Louisa S(?) in 1849. Mary died in 1872. Charles is still around in 1871, but after that I lose him.
I think Charles' father may also have been a Charles, but not sure.
Any confirmation would be really helpful - thanks

Hello Wendyel
Have you tried the Suffolk Surnames List? They have a volunteer who offers lookups from the original Laxfield registers. You may find a record of Charles' burial, and if he married in the parish after 1837, you will also have his father's name and occupation, as well as marriage witnesses.

Hi Sue
That's brilliant thanks a lot - it's helped me sort out a few thing, I can tell you! And, as usual, it starts off another search!
Thanks again
Wendy
