Title: Bradford Walkers
Post by: Scotty60 on Wednesday 25 February 09 18:28 GMT (UK)
Due to family at war I know very little about that side of my family. I know names and birth dates but that is all. They are the Walkers.William Walker and his wife Ellen nee? had four children, William 1865c born in Ireland probably Waterford, John 1871c born in Coventry,Harriet 1877c born in Waterford and my Grandad Michael born in 1882-1917 in Liverpool. My Grandfather married Julia Spencer 1885 in Bradford and he was killed in Ypers. I know about the Spencers but nothing about the Walkers. Did William,Harriet and John have children? Do I have cousins I know nothing about. They may not want anything to do with us but it would be good to know if There has been a healing.

Scotty,

Have you located the family in the census records?  If not this could possibly be your family in 1891

46 Isles Street, Manningham, Bradford

William D Walker  age 55     Excavtor?                  born Northowram, Yorkshire
Ellen Walker         age50                                       born Cork, Ireland, Wallstown
John Walker         age 20     Masons Labourer      born Coventry, Warwickshire
Harriet A Walker  age 14                                       born Waterford, Ireland
Michael P Walker age 9                                         born Liverpool, Lancashire

I could look for them in other census records if it would be of any help.

Thanks for looking CJL, I have the census reports and know what eventually happened to my Grandfather Michael O Walker, his father and himself were middle named Overend. It's John, William and Harriet that I know nothing about.I found my own father Henry Walker in the 1911 census at one year old.
