Title: Southwick, W Sussex (Brighton) marriage of DUNTON and BAX - COMPLETED
Post by: StephenBax on Tuesday 24 February 09 18:23 GMT (UK)
Hi

I have a marriage from the Sussex Marriage index as follows:

Mary Bax to James DUNTON  on Dec. 02, 1826 at Southwick, West Sussex

but I am keen to know the witnesses and anything elase about it.

Does anyone possibly have access to the Parish records for Southwick?

Southwick is a westerly part of Brighton, I believe.

Thanks,

Stephen Bax

Stephen,

The SMI gives the witnesses, viz. M[ar]y D[UNTON] and Ja[me]s NEWNUM.  Also states the marriage was after banns and both parties were single and otp.  Did you check James DUNTON's SMI record?  It's always worth checking both.

Southwick is west of Brighton but not really part of the town - Hove and Portslade lie in between.
