Before we start hunting around can yuo ley us know what you already have, so we dont duplicate.
have you dates of birth for these children?
HAve you found them on any censuses?
you have marriage for some - do you have dates/places for these and have you found the couples on censuses - with or without children
etcetc

Yes, lizdb
We have pretty comprehensive details of the children and their families re. snapshots taken in censuses, particularly the 1881 census. I haven’t got a birth/baptism date for the youngest boy Simeon b. 1850/51 who married Anne Black (Dec.Qu. 1874). I believe I have seen them on the 1891 census, in Handsworth Birmingham, but have no knowledge of children from that marriage. We are intrigued by the fact that my husband’s great grandmother Elizabeth was born (19 June 1844) in Upper Gornal, Sedgely near Dudley and it seems from the BMD index that her father Simeon’s death was registered there. What was the family connection to Sedgely?.. Also was there a daughter Mary Ann born 1843, or was this daughter who popped up somewhere one and the same as Nancy bp. 14 Feb 1839 St Matthew, Walsall? Any ideas welcome - janetto

Is this William their eldest child or another brother? His marraige cert will confirm is Simeon is the dad.
If so - then it looks like he married Elizabeth Allsop and had at least one child.

William Burns
one of brides on page Elizabeth Allsop.
Of course this William living next door to Simeon and employed in the same trade could be any relation (nephew, cousin, son, brother etc), or none at all (though quite a coincidence if not).

I will stop there as I am not sure if I am duplicating what you have, as you say you have traced them through the censuses.

Thanks lizdb for the info regarding Mary Ann and Nancy appearing in 1851. The Elizabeth who was 6 in 1851 was born in Gornal . The William who married Elizabeth Allsop was indeed the eldest son (born Darlaston 1833); he started of as a spring bar maker and finished up as butcher.
Thanks again
janetto.
