Welcome !

Births Sep Quarter of 1906

Towler  Lilian     W.Derby  Vol 8b Page 628

Get this Birth Cert to ascertain her parents names - and then it will be possible to work back via their marriage to reveal them and their families in the 1901 census and earlier.

It may be possible to find her and deduce her parents from the free-search function of the 1911 census too ...

The cert can be obtained online - http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Hello and a warm welcome :)

You'd need certificates to confirm, but it looks likely that she is a daughter of William John & Maria Towler, both born about 1876.  William's mother seems to be a Lucy Louisa Towler b abt 1837.

The family seem to have had at least one other daughter, Gladys Louise Towler b abt 1905.

If you go to www.1911census.co.uk (a pay site) you should be able to find the family in 1911.

When / if you obtain the 1903 Cert from the address I showed earlier, it should verify - via Father's name - if this is the 'correct' Maria Slade...

The Slade line seems easy to follow - George was apprenticed to a Butcher in 1851 (Thos Chamberlain) in Devon, and in 1841 is with parents;_

Hi.
You had some good feedback in February!  If the Lillian Towler identified was incorrect, I have a relative of that name born 1906 in Bolton, the daughter of James Henry Towler and Mary Elizabeth (nee Entwistle).  Mary is the sister of my GGFather and daughter of James Gray Entwistle and Betsy Woods.  Lillian had siblings Annie, Bertha, Elsie, Ada and James Henry.  If any of this aligns with your information, I'd be glad to contact any descentants.  Thanks.
