Hello KHP, I have taken the photos - the headstones are in poor condition so hope you can make out what is on the photos I have taken.

Will send a PM to ask for your contact details

Hi there Newbe,

No problem - the Newstead Cemetery is only 5 minutes away, next door to the school where my wife taught for many years.

I will do that in the next day or two

Hello Newbe

Bad news I am afraid. I have just returned from Newstead and there do not appear to be any headstones on the plots you mentioned.
I did photograoph the plots if you are interested.

Is Newstead another name for Hamilton Park Cemetery?

Hi Newbe

Yes , we locals call it Newtead as that is where it is - but the official name is the Hamilton Lawn Cemetery.

Hi Don,

I will send them an email at Hamilton City Council and find out for sure if there is a headstone or not and get back to you.

According to the Burial locator V2 it has M/I for Ada Masters.  I will check anyway and let you know one way or the other

Newbe

PS: Thanks for that Don

Hello - I just realised that I had sent the previous message from my daughter-in-law's computer after I had shown her how to register for rootscat.com.

By the way it is not permitted to send email addresses on the rootschat pages - this must be done by using the Personal Message system -located in your profile settings.

Hi Newbe - I will go and photohgraph the headstones either side of where I believe your graves are located, then I will check on the Hamilton Cemeteries to see if they are plots 9 and 12 row 44 Magnolia lawn garden.

This should give a clue as to whether I had the correct location. (Should be right as my uncle is located in this section not far from where I expected to find your graves.)

Hi Newbe , looks like I may have been out a plot or three. Took photos this evening either side of what I thought was your requested plots - these are  for Benjamin walker 44-20 and Isobel Goodwin plot 44-22.

So I will revist Newstead tomorrow to see if I can find the plots you are after...

I'll get the right ones yet....

Still waiting for Amy's name details - she can search on Hamilton City Council, Cemeteries - online data base - need Family and Given name - click on the name when it comes up and it shows Garden, row and plot number.

Hi Don,

Thank you very much for the photos.  Now all I need to do is get the death notices.

I am one happy lady right now and have even more names to add to the tree.

Thank you for doing this for me.
