Hi Signalman

On www.freebmd.org.uk there is an

Edwin NEWMAN born 1904 Second Quarter (Apr, May, Jun) District: Tewkesbury Volume: 6a Page: 476

Do you have any other details about him? Do you know for definite that he moved to Cheshire?  Did he ever marry?

Additional

There is also a hit for him on the 1911 census, he is 6 and living in Tewkesbury presumably with his family. I don't have any credits but i'll have a go at trying to find out who else is there!

- Had a look and there are 26 other Newman's living in Tewkesbury in 1911.

If you want to find out about his service record you can do it via

http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html

There will be a cost involved as the records are still embargoed. However if he died in service there may be reference to this.
