Title: 1911 census
Post by: gmt on Monday 16 February 09 20:04 GMT (UK)
I am very disappointed that the cost of viewing the 1911 census records is so much. I am already a subscriber to findmypast and feel that members should not have to pay twice.

GMT this has been commented on several times. If you do a search you will find many ppl feel the same

If you wait it will most likely become available via subscription.
If you don't want to wait then the charges are there to offset the extra work involved in scanning all the individual householder schedules.
Sure I'd rather not have to pay extra, but I don't have the patience to wait until 2011 when I expect it will become available on subs - I'm just impatient =)

It has been strongly rumoured that when the 1911 census actually arrives on FindMyPast, it will be at an additional cost on subscription.

FindMyPast isn't the only site nor the only place to search and while for now they have the monopoly on the 1911 census that isn't a permanent thing and the census will be available via other sources in due course.
